Staff

This year will be challenging for students and parents as we push students to become more independent while learning higher level math.

Please encourage your child to step up to the challenges of 6th grade math, so we can watch them become excellent problem solvers and critical thinkers.

Children Learn What They Live

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.

If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.

If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.

If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty.

If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.

If a child lives with encouragement, he learns confidence.

If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate.

If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.

If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith.

If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.

If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, he learns to find love in the world.

Bio

I grew up in Grenada, MS, and I am a 1994 graduate of Mississippi State University. My husband, Stan Davis, and I love living in Southaven.  I moved to DeSoto County in 1995 as a 4th grade teacher at Horn Lake Elementary. Over the years in DeSoto County, I have taught 4th and 5th grade (all subjects) and now teach 6th grade math only.  I was honored to be awarded the DCMS Teacher of the Year for the 2012-2013 school year.  After spending 7 years at DeSoto Central Middle, I moved to Hernando Middle School to continue teaching 6th grade math.  I look forward to another successful year!
